Fighting for Fair and Impartial Courts
Join us for a multi-part program on the critical topic of fair and impartial courts.

We begin with a brief primer on the role of the judicial branch, created by the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) and the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ), and led by Judge Ann M. Donnelly, US District Judge for the Eastern District of New York, and ACTL member Matt Fishbein.

The second half of the hour is a panel discussion, co-presented with the Brennan Center for Justice, that will bring into stark relief some of the assaults on judicial independence and diversity today. Alicia Bannon, managing director of the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program, moderates this conversation with three distinguished experts and advocates: Patrick Berry, Brennan Center Democracy Program fellow and counsel; Kathryn Personette, deputy director of campaigns at the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center; and Eric Lesh, executive director of The LGBT Bar Association and Foundation of Greater New York (LeGaL) who previously served as Lambda Legal’s Fair Courts project director.
